Yes where were we oh the dredded “cold calling”; this is a stumbling block for me since I can’t stand when I am home just sitting down to dinner and a telemarketer calls so this is one I avoid.
As the day progresses there are numerous emergencies, lock boxes won’t open, flyers have run out, a muddy dog just ran through the entire house 15 minutes before a showing( the second showing). Oh no what to do, nothing to fear Mighty Lynnell is here! I come bucket in hand and get the job done what ever it may be.
Now let me assure you these are the fun emergencies the others we can talk about another time.

Of a Realtor; anyone interested? I am sure it is very similar to many other jobs or professions however there are a few differences. We go to the office everyday like so many other people out there but the biggest difference is at the end of the week there is no pay check. Countless hours of time, money and hard work and we may end up with a commission check sometime that month, no guarantees.
I can’t complain I have been doing Real Estate for over 20 years so I have seen different markets, trends and yes people come and go; though this one feels different. Maybe it’s my age, maybe it’s my children’s ages I can’t quite put my finger on it.
Oh yes back to the typical day… the phone rings oh fantastic an inquiry, no they won’t give you their phone number they will hold while you get the information on the house they are in front of. You spend oh say 15 minutes on them only to find out their brother in law is a Realtor, no he isn’t active (full time) but they will use him anyway. Ok back to the drawing board.
Yes prospecting, that would be calling all old clients and of course any new leads or the “dreaded” cold calling that is one hump that is really hard to get over…
More to follow…

I don’t know if anyone else feels like I do the past couple of days but boy do I feel blah and a bit anxious at the same time. I honestly believe it has to with the rush of the Holiday Season; starting with putting up decorations, the shopping, the baking and all the glimmer. Then you have the presents and the parties and the next week is the New Year. Then all the glitter, trees and holiday music gets put away until next year. It feels as if we run full speed for 3 weeks then it is over, back to school, back to work without any warning. For the past few days it feels as if something is missing! As the saying goes onward and upward!
I wish all of you a very productive and Happy New Year!
